Because people today would like to approach health and well-being the natural way, many are now patronizing and believing in the wonders of herbal supplements. There are now thousands of herbal supplements flourishing all over the international market but not all has the high quality that is worth your money. Worse of all, some are not even approved by the FDA.

When buying a herbal supplement, see to it that it has the USP Dietary Supplement Verified seal. This would let you know if the herbal supplement is safe to consume and if it has already been tested.

Look also at the label of the herbal supplement. See to it that you would only buy a supplement that specifically tells the amount of herb used.

If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. Don’t fall for herbal supplements that claims to cure a wide array of ailments or diseases. There is no such thing since most approved herbal supplements are only meant for a health condition or two.

What’s up with all the hype given to the alkaline water? Does it mean that a regular water is no longer enough to work on your body?

Alkaline water is currently the most bought bottled water by those who are into gym, yoga, and other fitness programs. However, you can also install a machine that can turn your tap water into alkaline water.

It is said that the alkaline water has more benefits compared to the plain water. One of the main differences between the two is that the alkaline water has a higher level of Ph than the tap water. Aside from that, there are also claims that the alkaline water can actually improve your body’s metabolism and even boost your body’s energy level as well.

But despite these claims, there are still no scientific proof that the alkaline water can do these wonders on your well-being.

Many are confused about the benefits and disadvantages of using MSG or sodium in their foods. Contrary to what people belive, sodium is actually important in building a healthier you. Of course, just like all things, having too much or excessive sodium can also be dangerous to one’s health.

Small amount of sodium can actually be good for your well-being. In fact, sodium aids in transmitting the nerve impulses throughout your body. Sodium also plays an important role in your muscles’ relaxation as well as contraction. Other than that, sodium is also responsible in maintaining the balance of liquid in your body as well.

However, the use of sodium is no longer advisable for oldies especially if you are already in your senior years. This may lead to health problems such as kidney failure, diabetes, and high blood pressure

Who doesn’t want their mixed vegetables to be stewed on creamy butter or a potato baked nicely with cheese and bacon? If you are after a scrumptuous taste, then cooked food is the way to go. However, if you want to have all the nutrients that you can get, then experts suggest that you eat raw foods.

Uncooked or raw foods are rich enzymes which are excellent in improving your digestion. More than half of these enzymes were destroyed when foods are being cooked.

Raw fruits and vegetables are also rich in water as well. That is why these are the right foods that you should take if you are having troubles with your bowel movement.

Some uncooked foods may really taste dull sometimes. So when eating raw foods, make sure that you add other healthy ingredients as well that would make it interesting as well as delicious.
