As you said the effect of energy drinks is only for a short period. The excess caffeine in energy drinks is not good for health too.

Hi all!
As a personal trainer I have heard all about energy drinks and the effects they have. They do work but yes only short term.
I find that it's much better to keep your blood sugar levels level because a fluctuation in these levels only result in tiredness. Before a good gym session make sure you eat a lot of carbs and slow energy releasers like whole W bread and peanut butter.Gym about an hour after your meal..

Objective: The purpose of our research was to collect sufficient data on the effects of four previously selected energy drinks; Red Bull, X Energy, FRS Energy and Monster. The reason we picked they four particular energy drinks is because the ingredients in them are healthy. After selecting the energy drinks we researched five community service events around the local area; Dance Marathon, March of Dimes, NJ River Clean-up, Lincoln Tunnel Challenge and Relay for Life. Through our groups research we picked Red Bull and Monster Low-Carb because they were the two healthiest and had very similar ingredients. At these events our participants drank the recommended energy drink before their community service. After they completed the event we recorded the effects these energy drinks had on the participants.

Data Collected: We issued the same survey to twenty individuals at each community service event. We gave ten participants Red Bull and ten participants Monster Low-Carb at each event. This survey asked the participants various questions about the energy drink they were given to try. The total number of surveys issued was one hundred and from the results on the surveys we categorized the responses and compiled our data. We constructed three different questions pertaining to the effects of drinking the energy drink and graphed the responses. The one category is how the participants felt after their community service event. We collected date separate for both Red Bull and Monster and categorized them into two different groups, good or bad. The good effects consisted of our participants feeling energized throughout the entire event and did not feel any crash afterwards. Also did not notice any signs of unhealthy side effects from drinking either energy drink. The bad surveys consisted of people who felt a crash during the event or felt no kind of energy boost at all from consuming the drink. Also they felt unhealthy because they felt as though their heart rate increased and they were dehydrated. The results for Red Bull are; the Good from Dance Marathon 7, March of Dimes 8, Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 10, Relay for Life 9 and NJ River Clean-up 5. The bad results are; Dance Marathon 3, March of Dimes 2, NJ River Clean-up 5, Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 0 and Relay for Life 1. After recording the survey results for Red Bull we did the same good or bad results pertaining to Monster Low-Carb. The good results are; Dance Marathon 4, March of Dimes 2, Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 2, Relay for Life 6 and NJ River Clean-up 3. The Results for the bad side effects from the survey: Dance Marathon 6, March of Dimes 8, Lincoln Tunnel Challenge 8, Relay for Life 4 and NJ River Clean-up 7.
Results/Conclusion:
In the data that we collected in 100 surveys it shows that the participants felt more energized and healthy while consuming Red Bull over Monster Energy drinks. Both of these drinks contain almost the same amounts of carbohydrates, calories, sugar and sodium, however the other ingredients such as caffeine and taurine affected the participants differently. Overall in the surveys you will see that participants that drank Red Bull felt more energized throughout the entire activity and did not feel a crash. We chose these participants as consumers because both energy drinks are geared towards athletes and people that need to focus for a period of time. All of these participants needed improved performance and concentration to complete the task at hand. Red Bull helped our participants to finish the community service events with increased endurance while replenishing their bodies. To get our information out to different communities we posted our results on a blog called the healthblogger answering to the question “Can energy drinks really energize me?”
www.thehealthblogger.net/food/health-benefits/can-energy-drinks-really-energize-me
The blogger wanted to know the effects of energy drinks and the main ingredients. As a group we hope that when people google questions similar to this one that our results will show up in this blog.
Overall I think the online community will really benefit from our research and spread the word that Red Bull is a healthy energy supplement.
